A venture created during lockdown
We went to our hometown in Uttar Pradesh. There we witnessed the rich heritage, which is still alive in the "angan" of our old towns. We got inspired and trying to bring you the same process to you by My Okhli. The search begin with home processed turmeric which is highly recommended as preventive measure for COVID 19. We bought Kachhi Haldi from the market and grate it. After sun drying we used it, the difference was easily visible against commercial turmeric powder in the market. During the process we come to know about "Curcumin" properties in Turmeric, and come to know about Lakadong Turmeric. We got all the three sources of turmeric tested in lab for curcumin content and result was surprising. And this was the trigger point to start this venture.... to bring you high nutrition, pure and naturally grown spices.
Woman Empowerment
With this venture we engage with women in town who brings there experience in preparing the spices with old process i.e. sun drying, hand sorting, cleaning and crushing in My Okhli. This opens up new opportunity for them to have a new source of earning. 1% of our sales, is committed towards menstrual hygiene and spend on distributing Sanitary Pads to village girls/women.
