High Curcumin Natrual Turmeric

Lakadong is a variety of turmeric. It is indigenous to the north eastern state of Meghalaya in India. Of the 11 districts of Meghalaya, lakadong grows in a small region called Jaintia Hills. Lakadong is renowned for its high curcumin content of more than 6%. Compared to usual varieties of turmeric with an active ingredient content of 1–2%, lakadong variety is far superior.

Curcumin is the active ingredient of turmeric and scientific research shows it to have natural anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous properties. The higher the curcumin content the more effictive it will be. This is what makes lakadong variety so sought after and it commands a premium price for superior quality.
